Some SKPDs Will Be Re-organized

Referring to Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) Bylaw which just being ratified last week, Jakarta Provincial Government plans to re-organize some regional work units (SKPD) to make them more effective and efficient.

Some SKPDs must be merged, and some others split. It is conducted so SKPDs’ performances would be more optimal

City Secretary Saefullah said the re-organizing includes merging and splitting existing SKPDs. At this time, the plan is still being discussed and targeted to finish in a month.

“Some SKPDs must be merged, and some others split. It is conducted so SKPDs’ performances would be more optimal,” he stated, Tuesday (8/26).

SKPD and UKPD Asked to Work Faster

Previously, two SKPDs have been re-organized by merging them into one, namely Monas Park Technical Management Unit (UPT) and Monas Monument UPT which now becomes Monas Area UPT. This SKPD is led by Rini Haryani, who was previously Head of Monas Monument UPT.

Other SKPDs to be re-organized are Building Control Department and Spatial Department which planned to be merged. Meanwhile, Public Works Department is planned to be split into two departments, namely Water Management Department and Highways Department.

“Public Works Department is going to be split to make its performance optimal. Thus, its fractions could be focus in solving problems related to damage roads and flooding,” explained Saefullah.

According to him, SKPDs re-organization can be done because the OPD Bylaw has been ratified by Jakarta Parliament (DPRD) last week. However, the bylaw cannot be implemented yet because it has not been signed by Jakarta Governor.

“We’re also waiting for the bylaw to be signed by the governor,” he told.
